Defendable as The Greatest Show on Earth?

Leading Darwinist Richard Dawkins Dodges Debates, Refuses to Defend Evolution as The Greatest Show On Earth

Is it defendable as The Greatest Show on Earth? If so, then why is Dawkins ducking out and refusing to debate Dr. Stephen Meyer?

I for one would like to see such a debate. Seems Dr. Meyer is not afraid of a debate.

Dawkins has said that he doesn't debate creationists, because there is no scientific basis for creationism and it only gives them undeserved credibility.

I think it would be good to have a debate about creationism on scientific grounds, but I have to agree with Dawkins that creationists have such a poor understanding of science that it would be like debating the existence of Zeus with a bunch of first century pagans.

Debating with creationists is a waste of time. Simple of that.

While debating with creationists and/or intelligent design folks can be different, it appears Dawkins will do neither...

...and especially the latter shows he's more about hyping one side of the argument than dealing with the issue which leaves me quite unimpressed.

Here's a good article you might read: http://www.origins.org/articles/dembski_theologn.html

I think the following sentence in the artcle puts it well "Clearly something more than an honest concern for responsible scientific inquiry is at stake ... We are dealing here with something more than a straightforward determination of scientific facts or confirmation of scientific theories. Rather, we are dealing with competing world views and incompatible metaphysical systems."
