Scientists Locate 'God Spot' in Human Brain
If it is true that "religion ... evolved along with other belief and social cognitive abilities", then why do evolutionists fight so hard against it?

wow - easy to see the presuppositional framework here...the effect fits whatever cause the observer ascribes to it...I say it is the natural responding to the supra-natural - that is - Man is "wired" to respond to the Creator with his whole being.
Not only that, but since most humans throughout history have believed in some sort of deity, one has to wonder who really has the neurological disorder.
Good points.
... just another of the latest lousy attempts to do away with the existence of God.
Here's a statement I read last week from a post on Dawkin's site entitled "Science is just one gene away from defeating religion" (http://richarddawkins.net/article,3624,n,n): "When we understand how our brains generate religious ideas, and what the Darwinian adaptive value of such brain processes is, what will be left for religion?" ... it kind of gave away their motive, didn't it!
What's more interesting and telling is when the article states: "Perhaps we humans come with a false model of ourselves, which works well as a means of predicting the behaviour of other people - a belief that actions are the result of conscious intentions. Then could the pervasive human belief in supernatural forces and spiritual agents, controlling the physical world, and influencing our moral judgments, be an extension of that false logic, a misconception no more significant than a visual illusion?" IMAGINE where this would lead when it comes to human confidence, human worth, ethics, etc.!
Now if only they can find the "arose-from-a-non-guided-primordial-chemical-process" spot in the brain.
Woah Swordbearer. Atheists would be in favor of eugenics would they? That's what it sounds like to me.
I joked a few months ago, on this very blog I believe, that the naturalist's arguments were useless because I had the religious gene. Looks like they've verified this.
